Paradise Now (2005) gives the viewer an atypical perspective within the Israeli and Palestinian conflict, the perspective of two would be Palestinian suicide bombers.
A key component of this film is the turmoil and contradictions the pair faces during the process of becoming suicide bombers. For example, the pair is told by some members of their society to be proud that they volunteered for the act, because they are doing a great service for their people and their God. In contrast, the pair also encounters the sentiment that being a suicide bomber is immoral and is a pointless waste of one’s life. Even within the pair, there is discord about whether or not they should go through with the act.
I strongly urge you to watch this unsettling yet gripping movie. For a more detailed summary, check IMDb http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0445620/plotsummary
